The Rest is Unquiet

Things have been a little quiet of late around Noiseville (not that I should talk), and now we know why. Alex Ross has moved his blogging emporium over to The New Yorker, under the rubric Unquiet Thoughts. Initial musings are on György Kurtág, Stile Antico, and more; update your records accordingly.

Boy, do I ever think it is a mistake to give up your well-established brand in favor of that of your employer, who might not be your employer forever. It is also common for businesses that move - not that the blog is a business - to lose existing customers. I'm hugely curious whether his hits will go up or down.

OTOH, now there is a link on The New Yorker's web site to my blog.

On the topic of blogs that have moved, The Amb. isn't on hiatus, but can now be found at a new url under a new name, abeastinajungle.blogspot.com

Thanks, good to know! New blog title and new pseudonym — you can't blame a guy for not being able to find you :)

This is sort of an unrelated but related post, but I didn't know how else to ping you--since I haven't had time to update my blog in ages (and the last few times I've written have had nothing to do with music, b/c it turns out that if you have no time to listen to music. . . you really have nothing to write about, either), feel free to update your blogroll and bump me from the list. :) (Plus I'm no longer in the Bay Area, but in London.)
