Read It and Weep

I was sad to have to skip Sunday's Berkeley performance of Messiaen's Vingt Regards by the brilliant Christopher Taylor (called out of town by an unmissable opportunity). Then I read Patrick Vaz's beautiful account of the recital, and was heartbroken.

Now I know why there was no review!

As I said in my blog,
it was one of those rare opportunities in one's life to experience something truly wonderful, mesmerizing, and overwhelming in public.

You REALLY missed something this time.

Thanks for the kind words, and at the risk of beating this joke to death, you could rev up the Bernard Holland review-omatic and if you heard Taylor play the Ligeti Etudes last year, you can imagine the quality of the performance.
